Here we have a problem that says, in which quadrant is the following point located? And we have the point two forty eight, negative two, three, 21. Now to solve a problem like this, there are a couple different ways you can go about solving it. Now I'm gonna show you a method where we can just kinda remember what where certain things are going to be in which quadrant. So for this point we have here, remember that this is gonna be in the form x y. Now this is how it works. If you have a situation where both your x and your y are positive, you will end up in quadrant one. If you have a situation where your x is negative and your y is positive, you end up in quadrant two. If you end up with a situation where both your x and your y are negative, you end up in quadrant three. And then if you end up with a case where your x is positive, but your y is negative, you end up in quadrant four. Now since I can see we have a situation where x is positive and y is negative, that matches with the case where we have a positive and a negative, which means we end up in quadrant four. So quadrant four would be the solution to this problem. So this is one way you can go about remembering which quadrant you end up in. Now alternatively, you can use a different method, which is actually my favorite method, where you go ahead and just draw a mock up graph. So you can show that you have the x here and the y there, and then you just recognize where a positive point would end up, in which case a positive x would end up somewhere on this right side, and then you check where the negative value would end up and a negative y would end up down below. So of the quadrants one, two, three, and four, we still see that we would end up down here in quadrant four. So there's a couple different ways you can solve this. These are the two main methods though. I just wanted to show you a version where we use this strategy as well, just so we can be familiar with how we find these quadrants. So either way you wanna go about it, this is how you can solve for it. But it's important to understand why it ends up in quadrant four since we have a positive x and a negative y.
